Great band, great song

This ex-Marine and very nice family guy in my experience has had a brilliant music career. Look him up. This is my favorite song from his first solo album which is one of those rare ones where every song is really good. I'd be a jerk if I didn't link to Duty Free from the same album which was good enough that Cracker covered it and had a hit with it.

Hard to choose a song from one of my favorite artists and dear friend. I chose this one for a few reasons. When I got divorced 7 years ago, my 25-year friendship with Michael, our time together on the phone... This album and song saved my ass.

The King's later material is under-appreciated. The lush, orchestral pop of songs like this and later "Kentucky Rain" and "Suspicious Minds" are my favorite pieces of his catalog. This version from the untouchable '68 Comeback Special is fantastic.

I only know Meatloaf's stuff from that one huge album and couple later hits. When I started doing this (almost) song-a-day blog last year, my roommate came home one night and enthusiastically suggested this song. Awesome choice. My roommate is moving across town next month. Sad to see him go, good guy, friend, and roommate. This one's for Josh.
